A must see if you’re in Swat, the lake may not look like most lakes but more like a river at first sight, but the shape changes throughout. Water falls from the mountains during most of the journey from Kalam to the lake, with fast flowing river, lots of trees, high mountains and beautiful sky. Just at the edge of Kalam is a forest, followed by a beautiful small town which gives an old look with wooden electricity polls and then snow-capped peaks, waters-falls here and there and the beautiful river. Don’t forget to take some warm clothes, like jackets or coats, because even in June it was really chilly at the lake. As of June 2012, there’s just one restaurant there which cooks good local food. Boat service is available which takes a small amount to give a ride around the lake, a very beautiful sight. If gone during Summer Festivals, the enjoyment triples with adventure sports in the area. If you want, you can trek/hike up towards more water.
